Ak Asset Management was established in June 2000 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Akbank with 1 million TRY paid in capital.
Ak Asset Management is managing different types of mutual funds of Akbank and Ak Securities, Ak Investment Trust (CEF) and different types of pension funds of AvivaSA Company. Currently 43 portfolios in total are being managed of which 23 are Akbank Funds, 1 is Ak Securities Fund and 18 are AvivaSA Pension Funds and Ak Investment Trust.
Ak Asset Management offers various packages of Akbank funds considering the current financial status, future financial expectations, tax planning and risk preferences of the investors.
In the belief that fund management is our "core business" Ak Asset Management aims to be a leader and a pioneer in the sector in terms of market share and new product innovation.
As of 30.06.2010, Ak Asset Management is the 3rd largest asset management company in the Turkish market. Ak Asset Management has a market share of 12% with a total size of 3.6 billion TRY (USD 2.2 billion) in assets in mutual funds market; a market share of 22% with a total size of 2.2 billion TRY (USD 1.4 billion) in assets in pension funds market. Total assets managed by Ak Asset Management account for 7 billion TRY (USD 4.4 billion) which gives a market share of 14% in the Turkish asset management market.
