The fund invests in non interest based instruments such as lease certificates and revenue sharing certificates issued by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance. The fund does not seek to generate interest income under any circumstances. At least 60% of the portfolio consists of Turkish lira denominated lease certificates and revenue-sharing certificates issued by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance. Up to 30% of the portfolio may be invested in Turkish lira–denominated lease certificates issued by banks that are either the fund’s distributing bank or have an investment-grade credit rating, as well as Sharia-compliant mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities traded on the stock exchange. A minimum of 10% and up to 30% may be invested in equities included in the Participation Indices calculated by Borsa İstanbul. Up to 25% may be invested in Turkish lira participation (profit-sharing) accounts. The portfolio composition is determined by evaluating expected returns and risk analyses over time. Investment decisions consider not only past performance but also forward-looking expectations. This fund is also used to invest the savings of participants who do not make a fund choice upon entering the system. Accordingly, the portfolio is managed in full compliance with the portfolio constraints specified in the relevant Regulation and Guideline. The fund’s adherence to participation principles is validated by a Sharia Supervisory Committee through an Authorization Certificate.
